I’m tired of this bullshit, VALVe needs to take away these updates now, take away the weapons, and give me what I bought: One of the greatest multiplayer games ever.

Say the pyro was underpowered, I agree. But why give it the ability to easily take down every uber that comes their way?

Stage 3 of dustbowl is now impossible with the new update. All the RED team needs is 2 or 3 engies, 1 or 2 medics, and the rest pyros, which is easy to get on a public server.

I was playing medic attacking on BLU today. Every time I went to take down 1 sentry with a demo, a “crafty” pyro blocks me with his compressed air blast from reaching the sentry gun and the demo is already dead with no uber to help him.

Fuck this update, fuck pyros, and fuck VALVe. That is all.

Me and TF2 aren’t seeing each other

While the new pyro shit is all fun for everyone playing pyro, I can’t play with all these little fuckers out there. Also, I cannot seem to find a good TF2 clan. One that’s in competition, but also pubs a fair amount. I found one but, can you believe one of their members was such a bad human being I couldn’t stand him? I’m leaving the game for now or at least regular pubs. I’ve been seeing a lot of my friends since all of them are in town atm before the big vacation rush sets in. I am staying part of the communities I am apart of.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

* Added 2 community maps: cp_fastlane and ctf_turbine

Pyro

* Added alt-fire compression blast to the basic flamethrower
* Added The Axtinguisher, The Backburner, and The Flare Gun
* Hadouken taunt now kills people it hits
* Tuned the flamethrower hit detection to improve detection versus retreating opponents
* Removed Flamethrower’s damage falloff (was falling off to 25% by the end)

cp_well

* Added a route from the forward central foyer up to the battlements
* Redistributed health and ammunition throughout the bases

ctf_well

* Added a route from the forward central foyer up to the battlements
* Removed central building, reduced overall map length
* Redistributed health and ammunition throughout the bases

Other Notes

* Removed Soldier’s 40% damage reduction from his own rockets. Does not affect rocket jumps
* In-game avatar images will now have a badge around them if the player is your friend
* Fixed bug that allowed players to move around in a reference pose
* Added custom death icons for unlockable weapons
* The player join team message now specifies whether the player used the auto team option
* Payload maps now support four control points per stage
* Achievement dialog will stay open when you’re moving in & out of the game and the main menu
* Added full Russian localization, with both fonts & speech
* Returned the “Report a Bug” option to the main menu

Pyro weapons unveiled + Another free TF2 weekend

All of the new Pyro weapons and achievements + new maps added to your VALVe maplist have been announced.


The first Pyro unlockable is The Flare Gun, which replaces the shotgun. It allows the Pyro to ignite an enemy at long range, but does require careful aim on their part. It’s particularly useful for causing havoc on Snipers and Engineers who want to keep their distance.


The second Pyro unlockable is The Backburner. This flamethrower is built for the Pyro who likes to ambush their opponents. It removes the compression blast capability, instead guaranteeing critical hits whenever it’s used on an opponent from behind. To aid in survivability, it grants the Pyro an extra fifty health.


The third Pyro unlockable is The Axtinguisher. This mighty axe guarantees critical hits on any enemy that’s currently on fire, although it’s significantly weaker against enemies who aren’t. A great combination with the The Flare Gun, or with another Pyro buddy riding alongside doing the igniting.

If anything, the flare gun looks interesting. Nothing on reload time but I’m pretty sure it’ll take forever and I’ll move back to the shotgun. I’m not really excited about the other two weapons, the Backburner and Axtinguisher. The Backburner is probably a better weapon than the normal flamethrower because of crits from behind and +50 health mentioned above. I’m just horribly scared that the Axtinguisher is going to be abused and many of the players playing during the Free TF2 weekend are not going to be happy. Another piece of information I would like to share is this:

In addition to the three unlockable Pyro weapons, we’ve made a significant addition to the base Pyro flamethrower. By hitting the alt-fire key, the Pyro is able to produce a blast of compressed air that knocks enemies away, and redirects enemy projectiles. It’s a highly versatile tool, allowing Pyros to get away from nearby enemies after igniting them, to kill enemy soldiers with their own rockets, or to separate enemy Medics from their healing targets. In particular, it allows a skilled Pyro to contain an enemy invulnerability push, and even to separate the Medic completely if the surrounding terrain supports it.

Imagine, your an engie and some pyro runs around the corner, blows over your sentry and destroys it to smitherines. This will give the medic an extra second to hold his uber against a demo if their are stickies on the wall. 35 new achievements have been released and you can view them on the pyro update page. How do you kill enemies with a taunt? Can somebody ask me?
